John qualified as a Solicitor in 1992 and joined the firm in 1994 at which time he was the sole personal injury lawyer in the firm. He became a partner in 1995 and took over the firm in 2001. He developed the firm into a specialist Claimant personal injury practice and in that time increased the turnover by 7 fold. He is now the managing partner responsible for new client development and the overall processes of the firm. He is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL)

When not at work John enjoys cooking, music, keep fit, keeping his wife and daughter entertained and photography.

Wendy Duffield qualified as a Solicitor in 1994 and worked in 2 firms, including as a salaried partner and head of personal injury in her last firm before joining The Skemp Partnership Solicitors in 2002. Wendy, a partner, specialises in handling employers’ liability claims and larger personal injury claims of all types. She is a member of the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel. She is also a member of APIL.

Wendy enjoys playing squash &Tennis, travel and gardening.

PA: Carla Berry

Sarah qualified as a Solicitor in 2010 but has worked at this firm since 2007, first as a PA to a partner and then as a Trainee Solicitor. She specialises in employers’ and occupiers liability claims and is also skilled at dealing with road accidents. She is a member of APIL.

When not working Sarah enjoys socialising with family and friends and reading.

PA: Carla Berry

Darren has over 20 years experience, having worked in the insurance industry since 1990, first working for insurance companies and then switching to work for Claimants. He has worked for this firm since 2007 and in that time has developed an excellent practice, with clients trusting in his forthright approach to recovering their losses.

He enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, ten pin bowling, watching football specifically Liverpool FC and socialising generally.

PA: Rachel Jones

Katie has nearly 20 years experience, having worked in the personal injury and uninsured loss recovery field since 1993. She joined this firm in 2008 and has been a valuable member of the team. She has dealt with a large number of motorcycle claims as well as a range of other road traffic accident claims. She is hard working and personable and popular with her clients.

Katie enjoys spending time with her young son, horse riding and going to the gym.

PA: Usman Mohammed

Jessica joined the firm in 2008, having worked in firms handling personal injury and uninsured losses for over 10 years, since 1999. She has a wealth of experience in handling a full range of road traffic accidents, including a large number of motorcycle claims. Jessica is a popular and conscientious member of staff.

In her spare time Jessica enjoys socialising and, to a lesser degree, going to the gym.

PA: Beverley Nicks

Carla is a law graduate who has been with the firm since 2004 when she joined as a PA. She works with Wendy Duffield and is also involved in assisting file handlers with the initial paperwork. Carla’s legal background is invaluable in all aspects of her work.
In her spare time Carla enjoys spending time with her young son, reading, going to the cinema, socialising and watching football (Manchester United of course).

Rachel has worked for this firm since 2007, starting as a clerk and rising to the position of PA, working with Darren Wardil. She has a BA (Hons) in Law and English Literature and is therefore able to bring an excellent academic background to the job.

Usman is a Law graduate who has also passed his Barrister Vocational Training (BVT) Exams. He first worked for the firm in 2008, leaving to undertake the BVT and returning to work as a PA to Sarah. His legal knowledge is an invaluable tool for the firm.

Beverley has 25 years experience working in administration and has worked for this firm since 2007, working as a PA to Jessica and as our bookkeeper. She has brought her wealth of experience in administration to the firm.

Michael Bradford has worked for this firm since 2007 and has risen from a position as a clerk to being a PA to the managing partner and is now the head of the New Claims Section.

In his spare time Michael enjoys playing and watching football, being an avid Manchester United fan, as well as playing golf and socialising. As such his personal interests match 99% of football players.

Amanda has worked as a legal secretary for 7 years, 4 of them for this firm. She is a conscientious, well liked member of staff.

Amanda enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.

Anna has worked for the firm since 2008, first as an office clerk and more recently as a new files & general clerk.

Mandy has worked in Solicitors offices for over 20 years and joined this firm in 2001. Mandy worked as a PA to the managing partner before being promoted to Office Manager. As an extremely organised and focussed member of staff she ensures that the office is always efficiently run.

Mandy’s interests outside of work are spending time with her family, reading, crafts and DIY.

Barbara has worked as a Receptionist and legal secretary for the last 20 years and has worked for the firm since 1992.

Barbara is a keen dog owner and enjoys going to the theatre & cinema, reading, listening to music and spending time with her family both home and abroad.
